EAST HOATHLY FETE: The fete will take place tomorrow (Saturday) on the school sport field from Midday until 4pm. This year, the church has joined forces with village primary school for an even bigger event. This will be a fun packed afternoon of games and entertainment, including ferret races, a book stall, tombola, plant stall and raffle (tickets available from the village hostelries and the village shop). Refreshments will be available in the form of cream teas, a Pimms tent and a barbecue. There will also be a chance to win a wheelbarrow full of bottles. Musical entertainment will be provided by the Heathfield Brass Band. This year, the candidates standing for the annual tradition of gunging are Tim Haffenden and Mr Procter, who will raise the most and avoid the gunge?
