East Hoathly

HARVEST COLLECTION: Although the Harvest Festival has now taken place, donations are still needed for the foodbank in Uckfield. There are many reasons why someone may need to turn to a foodbank, from redundancy, sickness and delayed wages to family breakdown and problems with benefits and low pay. The foodbank gives emergency aid to those who encounter such predicaments so that they and their families do not go hungry.

PRESERVATION SOCIETY: The next walk will be on Sunday at 2pm at Arlington Reservoir. Meet in the car park. It is hoped that there will be a chance to spot avocets and black tiled godwits, For more information, please call Jenny or Chris on 01825 872830.

EVENING PRAYER: Evening Prayer for All Soul’s. This service for remembering those who have died will take place on Sunday November 1 at Chiddingly Church, although residents of East Hoathly are invited to attend. At this service the names of those whose funerals have taken place in the two parishes since 1st November last year will be recalled by name. Also, anyone may submit a name of a loved one whom they wish to be remembered during the service. Please let Phil Hodgins have the names directly, or write them on the All Souls’ list on the notice boards in the village church. The service is expected to last just over an hour,
