LENT LUNCHES: A series of lunches are being held on Wednesdays during Lent to raise money for charity. Most lunches will commence at noon, but please call the host to check times and let them know that you are coming. April 5, Fay Hankins, 7 Buttsfield Lane 841174, Mothers’ Union.

PUB QUIZ: The next quiz will take place at 7.30pm in The King’s Head on Thursday April 6. Proceeds will be donated to the village cricket club. For more information, please call the pub on 840238.

SHOW SOCIETY: The Spring Show will take place on Saturday April 8. There are number of classes from cookery and crafts, to gardening and flower arranging. Please call Brian Duke on 841077 for a show programme. Exhibits need to be displayed by 10.30am, judging by 1.30pm followed by a produce auction at 3.30pm and then a raffle draw. Admission 50p.

TWINNING ASSOCIATION: The association is looking forward to the next visit by our friends from Juziers, France on Saturday April 29 to Monday May 1. They are in the 21st year of the exchange visits and look forward to this very enjoyable tradition going, which has led to the formation of lasting friendships. POP IN LUNCH: East Hoathly and District Pop In Lunch, Soup and Sociability.
