Falmer

MOLES: We have been plagued by moles in our garden this year. There are muddy mounds all over the place and as soon as you flatten one molehill, another one appears elsewhere. I was intrigued to discover a little pottery model of a cat playing with a ball sitting on top of one of the molehills this week. The cat is not in the least bit familiar to me. I wonder if the mole has been having an archaeological dig and the model has been thrown up from the depths and belonged to one of the previous occupants of our house?

CHURCH NEWS: Talking of digs, the works to St Laurence Church are getting on well. The choir pews have been removed along with the wooden base they were attached to. Now we await delivery of the stone slabs that will be laid in their place. After that the refurbishing of the vestry will be starting. While all this work is proceeding it will not be practical to have a midweek Eucharist. Do check our Facebook page, St Laurence Church Falmer, for updates on progress.

WINTER: We woke to a winter wonderland last Sunday, unfortunately by mid-morning the rain had taken over and we were sliding about in the mud again. Will it ever stop raining?
