Heathfield, Punnetts Town, Broad Oak & Cross In Hand

FINE ARTS SOCIETY: Wealden Decorative and Fine Arts Society report: The main hall of the community centre was full for the much anticipated lecture by Bertie Pearce entitled Now you see it - Now you don’t - the art of visual deception. Bertie is a very popular and entertaining NADFAS lecturer and he did not disappoint. There was much food for thought and considerable laughter as he demonstrated how the eye can be deceived by the skilled artist. Trompe l’oeil from the famous violin on the door to extra storeys in a chapel still amaze the viewer.

Next month another very popular NADFAS lecturer will pay a return visit to Heathfield when Oliver Everett will talk on the life and times of the Indian Moghul Emperor Shah Jahan. Visitors are welcome to join us on March 8 at 2.15pm in the Community Centre. Non-members should contact 01435 873258 if they would like to attend.
