Malling

ARTWAVE: Artwave begins this weekend. In Malling, starting tomorrow, Saturday, Kings Church, in Brooks Road, will be open to show the work of a group of their members, called Art Pad, with David Holden, until Tuesday from 10am to 5pm (starting at 12.45pm on Sunday). The work includes watercolours, acrylic, oils and pastels. On the following Saturday August 29, South Malling Church and the Dairy Studio on Old Malling Farm land, continue their partnership, this year without the Farm House. Dairy Studio Artists, Roger Adams and Joanna Farrow will be joined by Gillian David and Margaret Fetty, both new to the venue, showing their work at South Malling Church: landscapes and figurative work in oils. At the Dairy Studio, Susie Monnington will be showing trees and landscapes in oil, together with work produced on Observation and Project courses at the studio. Sylvia Hassle and Pauline Crook will be showing paintings and prints, with Pauline’s textiles, These venues will be open noon to 5pm over the bank holiday weekend (August 29, 30, 31) and the following Saturday and Sunday September 5 and 6, at the same times. Also on this final weekend, Gabrielle Lord of 10, The Lynchetts, will be open from 11am to 5pm with charcoal life drawings and acrylic paintings. Over the past few years, Artwave has enabled many Lewesians (and some Malling people who didn’t know) not to mention a wide range of other visitors from far and wide to see just how beautiful and historic their home area is (especially Old Malling) let alone the high quality of the work on display.

SOUTH MALLING CHURCH: (One of the Trinity Group), has an informal service of Morning Praise this Sunday at 9.30am led by Revd Jeremy Bamber, the Associate Vicar. All are welcome.
