SOUTH MALLING SCHOOL: Head, Jo O’Donoghue says, ‘Thank you to all the parents and carers that have kindly donated food to our Harvest celebration today. It will be collected by the Malling Food Bank for distribution in the local community.’ Two Year 4 classes enjoyed their trips to Anne of Cleves House this week as part of their learning journey about the Tudors. Staff at the museum commented on how well behaved and interested the children were.

As the final week of term 1 approaches the school is hoping that children will have reached the necessary 10,000 behaviour points needed to earn an exciting reward. The children will be deciding what reward they would like at the first school council meeting. Last year they had 2 successful ‘mix and mingle’ afternoons where the children visited different classes and enjoyed a range of exciting activities and one unusual inside, outside afternoon where they could choose to watch films inside or play games outside. The children always enjoy being able to spend time with other year groups and explore different aspects of the curriculum. The school breaks up for half term holiday on Friday October 23, returning on Monday November 2.

SOUTH MALLING CHURCH: The church enjoyed their Harvest Festival last Sunday with a sizeable and generous crowd of people bringing harvest gifts which will be passed on to the Malling Food Bank and money which will support local and international charities. The service this coming Sunday will be Holy Communion, led by the Associate Vicar, Revd Jeremy Bamber. The service begins at 9.30am and all are welcome.
