WALLANDS SCHOOL: Friends of Wallands would like to thank everyone involved in the Spring Fayre, we raised a huge £3,230.27. The next Friends of Wallands event is a summer evening of classical and opera music on Friday 17th July. Make sure the date is in your diary. A very tuneful and enthusiastic group of 32 Wallands singers from Y2 to Y6 took part in a gospel singing workshop on Friday and then performed in the Lewes Sings Gospel Schools’ Concert at Brighton Dome on Sunday afternoon. We took part with six other local schools and BBC Songs of Praise Gospel Choir of the Year, Lewes Sings Gospel.
The concert was led by Karen Gibson, an eminent gospel choir conductor, and the whole experience was just brilliant. Our children performed their solo song really well with confidence and energy and Karen commented to the audience on how special the atmosphere in our school is and how happy and quick to learn the children are.
Thank you to all 32 children for singing so brilliantly and behaving so perfectly and to all the parents who supported them, it was a truly special and inspiring occasion.

CHRIST CHURCH: Worship on Sunday at 10.30am will be led by Rev Geoffrey Gordon with Sunday Club for children.
At 6.30pm Rev John Gordon will be leading evening worship with Holy Communion. On Wednesday at 7.30pm the Thinktank will be meeting for a couple of hours with Professor Robert Harwood leading the discussion on Climate Change: can technology fix it? Should it?
The total collected in the Wallands area for Christian Aid amounted to £1291.13 and with Gift Aid this should make it up to over £1600.00 overall. A big thank you to all who donated this year.
