SNOW: Bit of a surprise to wake up Sunday to snow, and thankfully it is now cold which has been a long time coming this year and we are grateful the rain has stopped. I hope our residents are all keeping warm and have well stocked larders just in case. I remember my childhood home in Middle Way had a larder but when I married and moved to North Way we did away with the large walk in cupboards and extended the lounge which I know is what a lot of people did. That’s progress I suppose.

CHRIST CHURCH: Worship on Sunday at 10.30am will be led by our minister, Rev John Gordon, and the theme will be Homelessness. On Wednesday our ThinkTank will be meeting from 7.30pm and the session will be led by Pauline Grant and the subject and following discussion will be, Why we need Trades Unions in Modern Society.

INNER WHEEL CLUB: A Fish and Chips and Quiz Evening is being held on Wednesday February 10 at 7pm at St Mary’s Church Hall, Highdown Road. Tickets priced £10 are available from 01273 473483 or 01273 813810 (not available at the door). This event is in aid of The Oyster Project Lewes and organised by the Inner Wheel Club of Lewes.
