POSH COFFEE MORNING: Joan Evett invites you to a Posh Coffee Morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Care in the Church Room at 10 am today (Friday). A donation is asked for coffee. There will also be cakes, bring & buy, raffle and works by local artists for sale.
HISTORY STUDY GROUP: The meeting this evening (Friday) at 7.45 in the Village Hall will be Adam Wightman telling us about Queen Boudicca and the Buried Treasure. Adam Wightman is an archaeologist based in the Colchester area who undertakes archaeological exploration in advance of development. One recent project he will be describing to us involves a 90-day dig, on the very last day of which he personally discovered a large gold and silver treasure trove. These things do not happen often in an archaeologist’s life – though the “near Lewes” Middle Bronze Age treasure trove recently discovered in our own area is another exception.
