FOOTBALL CLUB: Tomorrow, Saturday, the first team are at home to Seaford Town in a SCFL Div 1 fixture with a 3pm kick-off at the Caburn. Meanwhile, the second team travel to Seaford also for a league fixture. On Sunday the Under 18’s are at home to Montpelier Villa in a league fixture with an 11am kick-off at the Caburn and on Tuesday evening the first team are away to Bexhill Utd in a league fixture with a 7.45pm kick-off.

ST MARY’S: This Sunday is known as Bible Sunday, where Christians across the UK celebrate this amazing book. At St Mary’s services take place at 8am Holy Communion and the 9.45am Eucharist. At 6.30pm you are invited to celebrate with John Payne as he celebrates 50 years in St Mary’s Choir. John has chosen the hymns and arrangements for this service and we look forward to celebrating with him and Jenny.

BRIDGE CLUB: At its meeting on Wednesday October 14, the result of the duplicate pairs played was: 1, Frank Hibbert and George Montgomery; 2, Jenny Charman and Michael Slot; 3, Liz and Tim Owen. The club next meets in the St Mary’s room of the village hall on Wednesday at 7.30pm. Contact 814220.

WI: The speaker at the October meeting was Shirley Jaffe. Her presentation was called Grandmother’s Footsteps and she sat on the stage surrounded by photographs of her family. She is an actor who also writes poetry and she read some of her poems to us. The next WI meeting is on Tuesday November 3 at 7.30pm in Ringmer Village Hall. This is the annual meeting when we review the events of the last year, hear about the state of the finances, and choose the committee and President for next year. Guests and new members are welcomed. Can you help us? Our WI is looking for someone to come and put out chairs and tables in the Village Hall for our meetings. We need this help on the first Tuesday of each month from 6.30pm to 7pm, and also occasionally for other events in the year. We will pay £10 each time.

ST PETER AND ST JAMES’ HOSPICE: Hospice Christmas Cards are now on sale at the Wednesday Coffee Break, 10am to noon in the Rogers Room of the Village Hall. A selection of the cards is available see on the village website at www.ringmer.info/stspeterjames.html then click on the link. 2016 calendars are also available at hospice shops.
