ST MARY’S: Revd Beth has been signed off from all parochial duties by her GP until February 6. Please contact church administrator, Shirley Squires, or the church wardens Peter Speed or Michael Townsend. If you would like to contact a member of the clergy, the Rural Dean, Revd Geoff Daw can be contacted on 01273 473665. The 10am service this Sunday continues with the third Sunday of Epiphany as we celebrate the Eucharist with bread and wine. All ages are very welcome. Sunday Club runs during most morning services. During the evening on Sunday, St Mary’s and the Baptist church join together in the Village Hall to mark the week of Christian Unity. Tea at 5pm, service at 6pm. Please note there is currently no 8am or mid-week Holy Communion. On Monday the Circle of Quiet meets at 10am for 30 minutes of Waiting on God in Silence. It is open to all, of any faith or none at all; come and experience a sense of peace in the serenity of our parish church.

ROSEMARY HARRIS: Rosemary’s death on 3 January 2017 was announced in last week’s Sussex Express. She is known to many of us through her involvement with many village groups. All her Ringmer friends are invited to a celebration of her life at 3.30pm on Tuesday in Ringmer Village Hall. Afternoon tea will be provided.

BRIDGE CLUB: At its meeting on Wednesday January 11, the result of the duplicate pairs played was: 1, Lesley Durrant and David Warner; 2, Barrie Smith and Alan Grindley; 3, Liz and Tim Owen. The club next meets in the St Mary’s room of the village hall on Wednesday at 7.30pm. Contact 814220.

MOTHER’S UNION: The MU launched its programme of activities this week after an AGM and Eucharist service led by the Archdeacon of Brighton and Lewes, Revd Martin Lloyd Williams. Copies of the programme are available in church and we plan to start an occasional daytime meeting at Delves House starting February 15.
