Signs are an eyesore and not a priority

I am astounded that Lewes District Council has seen fit to install not just one but three enormous signs in the Southover Grange Knot Garden that warn children not to play in the fountain.

Apart from the fact that these signs are a permanent eyesore when the fountain runs only for a single month in every year, it is extraordinary that taxpayers’ money should be spent on despoiling what was previously a beautiful and much loved part of the town.

When local government cuts elsewhere are leading to the loss of essential services for the elderly, disabled and young alike, the district council seems to have a very odd sense of priorities.
