HISTORY GROUP: Our next walk is tomorrow, Saturday, meeting at Offham Farm Shop off the A275 north of Lewes, at 2pm. It will be a short walk to view the Sussex cattle and Southdown sheep on the farm, and learn more about them. We regret that dogs will not be allowed on this walk because of the livestock. We can then retire to the tea room for a cuppa.
BONFIRE: Our own Warbleton Bonfire Society, after a break last year, are holding theirs tomorrow, Saturday, with the torchlight procession starting from Rushlake Green at 8pm.
Cowbeech have theirs next Friday October 30 with various events starting at 6.30pm around the Merrie Harriers.

St Giles, Dallington: 9.30am Holy Communion. Heathfield Chapel: 11am Morning worship with Pat Reigh and 6.30pm evening service with Ray Bodkin.
PARISH COUNCIL: Ian Collett and Loise Philps, representing the Little Arts Festival, outlined the aim of the festival, which would expand the existing art show held in late August, drawing in drama, poetry, music, dance sculpture etc. It is aimed at all ages from children to the elderly, and not only Warbleton parish, but those surrounding it. Although the main event would still be in late August, it is anticipated that there would be workshops etc. through the summer. Expressions of interest have been received from the Village Players, Warbleton Brass Band and the church, amongst others. There was a favourable response from the survey, with 90 percent expressing interest. Fifty people have signed up as Friends at £5 each providing and initial working fund. A grant has already been received from Heathfield and Waldron Parish Council. An application for a grant has gone in to Wealden and to our own parish council. Local businesses are also expressing an interest.
For details of other matters at the meeting please see the Bodle Street section. A reminder that any organisations in the parish seeking grants from the Parish Council in this financial year, for payment in January 2016, should send their applications to the clerk by October 31, phone her on 01435 831653 for details of what is required.
PLOUGHING RESULTS: Congratulations to two local ploughman. Firstly, Richard Lambert-Gorwyn who won the Ferguson Class at the Sussex County Ploughing Championships at Asburnham last Saturday. Simon Tingley won the Trailed Vintage Class at the same match, and was also judged to be the overall Champion of the whole match. Despite the rain during the week making the surface a bit sticky, the soil turned over well, and good progress was made by all.
