Six local children aged between 7 and 12 years, have attended a VIP day out at Drusillas Park with their families, after winning a competition on local radio station, Heart FM.

Charlie Pope, Owen Trewin, Courtney Emmeney, Gabriella Olding, George Backler and Lucy Evans were the six lucky winners who enjoyed a special day out at the zoo on 19th April, after guessing the animal name bleeped out of a well-known song.

During the day, the families were greeted by Heart Breakfast presenters Tom, Lynsey and Jack and enjoyed lunch in Explorers Café Restaurant. Each of the winners also experienced one of Drusillas Park’s new Animal Encounter sessions, getting up close and personal to some of the zoo’s furry and feathered favourites.

Cassandra Poland, Drusillas Park’s head of marketing, said: “The Close Encounters are a great way to learn a little more about them from the keepers that look after them. It’s been a great day and we hope all the families have enjoyed it as much as we have.”
