Volunteers needed for wildlife rescue service

HERE is a plea to residents in Lewes and Wealden districts by Trevor Weeks, the founder of East Sussex Wildlife and Rescue Ambulance Service:

“We are approaching that Summer time of year when our volunteers start taking well earned holidays,  plus we have a few volunteers who are temporarily off due to long term illness or illness within the family. Unfortunately the casualties are still in need of feeding and cleaning during this time.

“We always get low on volunteers at this time of year so if you are interested in working three-four hours one day a week either from 8-9am onwards or 5-6pm onwards, especially if you are available Thursday, Friday and Sunday – but other days are available too – please contact me for further information.

“Volunteers are needed to help with the daily feed and clean shifts working as part of three-four person team.  We do need people who are prepared to commit to the same day each week but can take on a few people who are able to be flexible helping to provide cover when people are off ill or on holiday.”
