Wealden towns and villages celebrate Christmas in style

Wealden is set to celebrate Christmas with events that will top the popularity polls for all the family. Father Christmas has a tight schedule to make sure he finds time for children who want to visit him.

On November 24 there are crafts, gifts and vintage finds in Uckfield Civic Centre. On the same day Father Christmas arrives in Heathfield when Christmas lights will be switched on and Alfriston celebrates with its famous Dickensian Evening from 3pm. Next he’s off to Crowborough on November 30 where people can enjoy a fairground, stilt walkers, magic and music. There’s even a land train going to his grotto.

Shops open late in Uckfield on December 7 when Uckfield FM stages live broadcasts, Kings Church creates a winter wonderland and Santa stops at Bridge Cottage. Both the Bluebell Railway and Lavender Line have Santa Specials during December and finally, Kipling’s magical Jacobean house in Burwash is decorated for Christmas with carols, plays and a children’s trail.
