Wear yellow and green in support of North Chailey hospice’s work

St Peter & St James Hospice in North Chailey is encouraging everyone to wear green and yellow on Friday October 10 as part of Hospice Care Week to help raise needed funds for the Hospice.

The hospice, which provides end of life care to people in the Lewes and Uckfield areas, is calling on supporters to brighten the day by wearing an item of green or yellow clothing to raise funds for the Hospice during Hospice Care Week.

It could be a hat, socks, clothing, bag, boots or whatever you have.

Hospice Care Week runs from October 6-12.

This year’s theme is ‘Hospice care, everywhere!’

A spokesperson for the hospice said: “St Peter & St James wants to raise awareness of all aspects of hospice care to as many people as possible and Hospice Care Week provides the perfect opportunity to do this with World Hospice Day and Palliative Care Day taking place on Saturday October 11.

“The suggested donation is £2 for each person taking part and the funds raised would go to the hospice to support the high quality care given to patients.

“The hospice relies on 86 per cent of its funds coming from the community in order that it can continue providing vital care for patients.”
