A group of girls from 1st Telscombe Cliffs Guides and Peacehaven Senior Section have returned from four days of high-adrenaline activities and live music.
They attended Wellies and Wristbands, a festival-style event exclusively for Girlguiding members.
A total of ten girls, along with their leaders, travelled to Foxlease in Hampshire to join more than 2,000 Guides and members of the Senior Section for the action-packed girl-only extravaganza over the Bank Holiday weekend.
Fiona Woodhall from the Guides said: “We all had a fantastic weekend and were extremely proud to be part of the first ever event.
“More than 2,000 Guides in total attended and it was an excellent weekend full of activities, live music, meeting new people and taking on new challenges.
“The majority of the girls, and the leaders, had never been to a festival before and were excited to get the chance to try out some activities they had never done before too.”
Zip wiring, abseiling, a high ropes course and the crate challenge, where participants built a huge tower of crates while harnessed to a rope, were just some of the exciting activities on offer at Foxlease, which is a girlguiding Training and Activity Centre.
The girls also had the chance to relax, with live music from local acts, street dancing, a beach village, cinema and pamper zone complete with hot tubs set up on the 65-acre site for the occasion.
Among the activities the girls, all aged ten to 15, chose to try out included archery, abseiling, high ropes, tree climbing, swimming and an inflatables challenge.
Foxlease is set in 65 acres of beautiful land near Lyndhurst in Hampshire.
The centre is in the heart of the New Forest.
On 28 February 1922, Mrs Archbold Sanderson gave Foxlease House and approximately 65 acres of land to Girlguiding.
Guides offers girls a wide range of activities including camps and sleep-overs, cooking, crafts, sports, outdoor pursuits, service projects and performing.
