A woman has been treated by paramedics after a fire at a property in Crowborough this evening (Tuesday, January 5).

Two crews from Crowborough and one from Uckfield were called to the scene shortly after 5:45pm to reports of a blaze with persons trapped inside. The South East Coast Ambulance Service was also requested to attend.

Upon arrival, firefighters used breathing apparatus and one hose reel to extinguish the flames, which started in a cupboard on the first floor. One woman was treated for smoke inhalation.
