A CHIDDINGLY art gallery will be presenting a powerful exhibition of brave and illuminating photographs.
Farleys Barn gallery will feature the work of photographer Jenny Matthew from her book ‘Women and War.’
There will also be work from Spanish painter and sculptor Samuel Paradela.
A spokesman for the gallery said: “Jenny Matthews is an acclaimed photographer, who has spent over 20 years photographing conflict and social issues for British newspapers, magazines and development organisations.
“The dramatic works in this challenging exhibition show women in war zones including El Salvador, Palestine, Mozambique, South Africa, Rwanda, Eritrea, Afghanistan, South Sudan and Gaza.
“It is particularly appropriate that this exhibition of Women and War is being held at Farleys Barn Gallery, as it is situated in the grounds of Farley Farm House, the former home of the celebrated American war photographer Lee Miller and her husband, Roland Penrose. Visitors to Farley Farm House can see famous examples of Lee Miller’s work.”
The exhibition runs from July 26 until September 8. It is open to all groups throughout the period and also public open days August 7, 21 and September 4.
