A popular Hastings writing group enjoyed an afternoon of prose, poetry and songs at its annual summer party which took place on Saturday, August 23.
Providing fine wine and food, Tony Berry and John Wallace hosted the annual event at their home in Harold Road, Ore. Musical entertainment was provided by Tony May and Alvin Culzac and the group’s chairwoman, Sally Gardner, described the event as the ‘best ever’.
Sally said: “We are very laid back at Shorelink – the whole purpose is to enjoy your writing and share with others round the table.
“We aim to provide a light-hearted, friendly and supportive environment, where you can discuss your work with like-minded people. Shorelink believes that laughter is an essential part of the creative process.”
The group meets every Monday at the Isobel Blackman Club (WRVS) in South Street, St Leonards, holding reading evenings and workshops.
It also enjoys a variety of social events such as the summer party and annual dinner and organises visits to the White Rock and other theatres in the area, as well as trips to the West End.
“Pop into one of our meetings at 7.30pm on any Monday evening and you will be most welcome. We’d love to hear anything you have written,be it prose or poetry,”added Sally. For more information visit www.shorelinkwriters.co.uk.
