Adult GCSE results were also amazing

It’s not just the children from local community colleges who’ve done well in their GCSE’s; the adults are pretty amazing too.

The Adult College for Rural East Sussex (ACRES), the local provider of adult education classes, has seen 79% of its GCSE students achieving grades A*- C with 22% receiving coveted As or A*s, a rise of 5% on last year. Everyone that took their exams, passed.

2014 is proving a bumper year for ACRES. A recent Ofsted inspection rated the College as ‘Good’, with the report praising high success rates on most courses, good, and in some cases, outstanding practical and technical skills developed by students, and with enjoyment and enthusiasm for learning also rated highly by inspectors. ACRES has also recently gained an Investors in Diversity Stage 1 Award. It’s no surprise then that students have achieved well in their GCSEs too.

ACRES is moving to new premises, in the old caretaker’s house at Uckfield Community Technology College, during the autumn term, literally building on its recent successes! With the adult learning term starting next month, ACRES is proving that it’s not earth bound; the sky’s the limit, when it comes to teaching and learning, for ACRES and its students.
