As someone who has lived with cancer for more than seven years now, despite being told in 2007 that I had 6-18-months to live, I am writing to ask for the help of your readers in shaping the future of cancer information and support across Sussex.
I am a patient who is advising on the planning of the new £3.7million Sussex Macmillan Cancer Support Centre which will be built opposite the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton, but whose services will reach across the county. As part of our planning for the cancer centre we are asking people across Sussex who have been affected by hair loss, skin or nail problems or body confidence issues – including family, friends and carers – to take part in an on-line survey at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/DL3PM56. The closing date is October 31, 2012. But if people do not have internet access they can contact Geoff Brown, who is project implementation manager, Sussex Macmillan Cancer Support Centre on 07703 672 773.
In recent years, Macmillan has planned and built some of the best cancer care facilities to be found anywhere in the world – it would be wonderful if as many people as possible in Sussex had their say on this new service.
