The Brighton Marathon registration deadline, on 28 February, is fast approaching and Diabetes UK has some of the last few places available and I am writing to ask readers to be part of something great and join our running team for the fundraising event on 6 April.
Now one of the top sporting events across the UK, the race route goes through some of the city’s most iconic sights starting with a loop of Preston Park, and then takes in the city centre, Brighton Pavilion and stretches of coastal road finishing at Madeira Drive, just east of the brilliant Brighton Pier.
Diabetes UK is the leading UK charity that cares for, connects with and campaigns on behalf of all people affected by and at risk of diabetes.
Diabetes is a serious condition that can have devastating complications, such as blindness, kidney failure, heart disease, stroke and amputation.
The funds will go towards to raising awareness and to help support the 3.2 million people in the UK living with diabetes, including the 630,000 people who have undiagnosed Type 2 diabetes.
All runners who join the Diabetes UK team receive a branded vest, crazy hair and fundraising pack, as well as online support and training tips.
To take part and for more information email Fundraising.SouthEast@diabetes.org.uk or call 01372 731361 to speak to a member of the Diabetes UK South East Fundraising team.
