Hiroshima remembered

August 6th marks the anniversary of the first atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima in Japan. Lewes CND invites you to join our annual commemoration of those who died and all who became ill as a result of the atomic bombs dropped on both Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August 1945, as well as all those since who have suffered the ill effects of nuclear power.

Whatever your view of nuclear power, you must be moved by the memory of the thousands vaporised in that terrible moment – mere shadows on the ground where previously men, women and children had lived their lives.

That is why CND gathers to swear “Never again” on the anniversary of those awful bombs.

If you share our desire for a better world for future generations, join us on Monday, August 6 at 8.30pm under the Phoenix Causeway.

Once again we will be floating our candles to remember the dead and suffering and re- dedicate ourselves to the search for a more peaceful world.
