Passing glimpse at Olympic torch

I wanted to send you this picture as being only one of 5 people ( including my 4 year old son!!) standing on the bypass roundabout, waiting for a glimpse of the Olympic torch Relay, I am disappointed and extremely angry that this is the closest we got to seeing it as the council would not pay for it to go through the town!!!'Being a once in a lifetime moment for my child and the rest of us living in Uckfield, I and am sure other long serving residents would like answers as to why we weren't permitted or involved like other towns such as Crowborough and Lewes.'Having spoken to lots of residents who live and work in Uckfield, we would have all been happy for our extortionate council tax and rates to be used for this iconic, moment in history!!!!'''''Big Shame!!!!'''Regards'''Mrs Nicole Douglas

I wanted to send you this picture as being only one of five people (including my 4-year-old son) standing on the bypass roundabout, waiting for a glimpse of the Olympic Torch Relay. I am disappointed and extremely angry that this is the closest we got to seeing it as the council would not pay for it to go through the town.

Being a once in a lifetime moment for my child and the rest of us living in Uckfield, I and am sure other long serving residents would like answers as to why we weren’t permitted or involved like other towns such as Crowborough and Lewes.

Having spoken to lots of residents who live and work in Uckfield, we would have all been happy for our extortionate council tax and rates to be used for this iconic, moment in history. Big shame.
