Renewable energy: rhetoric’s no answer

WHAT is Brian Beck ‘for’ asked Mr Jones (‘Time to be constructive’, June 10).

Mr Beck has presented a series of numerate arguments, devoid of emotive assertions, relating to proposed renewable energy solutions.

If Mr Jones disagrees with Mr Beck he should produce cogent, numerate counter-arguments rather than rhetoric.

Many are now seriously questioning the existence of man-made global warming (as opposed to accepted historical climate cycles). But crucially, it seems that the majority now share with Mr Beck the most serious doubts about some of the crazy, subsidy-based solutions being proposed.

By coincidence an excellent overview was offered by Charles Moore in The Telegraph, June 12 (‘Why vote blue go green doesn’t sound quite so clever any more’): www.telegraph.co.uk/comment/columnists/charlesmoore/8569280/Why-vote-blue-go-green-doesnt-sound-quite-so-clever-any-more.html
