BRIAN Beck (June 3 and many previous letters) seems to have spent a great deal of potentially useful time seeking to rubbish renewable energy and other attempts to combat global warming and improve energy security. By now, most of us know what he is against. The question is: what is he for?
Does he doubt the threat of global warming and our role in it? Nothing is certain, but the balance of probabilities suggests that it would be unwise to bet against it. Does he insure his house? Does he object to any contribution towards the Fire Service? How certain does he have to be before he supports action over complacency?
Come on Brian. Do you have any positive suggestions?
