What has happened to the Seaford Town Centre Conservation Area?
It is now 25 years since Lewes District Council circulated to property owners in the area details of a scheme, which included the availability of grants for structural repair work.
My house is within the area. It was built in 1875 using the historic local construction method called Bungaroosh (check it on Google). The walls are now cracked, and I have been enquiring about financial assistance to defray the cost of repairs.
Widespread enquiries about possible help from the Conservation Area scheme have not produced any sensible response.
So I am wondering if the scheme still exists? If not, when was it closed and how was the decision promulgated?
