Herstmonceux Parish Council is looking for residents’ views on its Neighbourhood Plan.
A document, called a Pre Submission Plan, has been prepared with 17 policies and proposals relating to the management of development in the parish and the provision of services required by residents.
Final decisions have not been made about these policies and the document is now available for residents to review. The parish council is keen to hear the comments of parishioners on the proposals in the Pre Submission Plan. The policies will affect the future development in the parish and the council is calling on residents to contact it with their comments.
At the end of the consultation period, all the comments from residents will be analysed and collated to form the final Neighbourhood Plan.
When completed, Herstmonceux Parish Neighbourhood Plan will become a statutory planning document carrying significant weight in informing local planning decisions by Wealden District Council. Parishes which do not develop a Neighbourhood Plan may be vulnerable to speculative overdevelopment, the council said.
Copies of the plan can be viewed at www.herstmonceuxparish.org.uk, www.wealden.gov.uk, Hailsham Library. Herstmonceux Village Information Centre, Herstmonceux Village Hall or by calling 01323 833312 or firstname.lastname@example.org
The public consultation runs until January 24.
