Woman dies in car accident

A WOMAN from Rodmell has died in a car accident on the A27.
Three cars were involved in the accident on the eastbound carraigeway, just east of Falmer, at around 6.30pm last night.

The driver of a Vauxhall Corsa, a 38-year-old woman and her 40-year-old woman passenger, both from Rodmell, were taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton.

The passenger died as a result of her injuries and the driver remains in hospital with serious injuries.


The driver of a Peugeot Boxer, a 36-year-old man from South Chailey, and the driver of a Renault Clio, an 18-year-old man from Lewes were uninjured.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the accident to call 0845 60 70 999.
