Former Lewes player Ben Hawes will be hoping to lead the nation to hockey glory tomorrow as Great Britain take on the might of Australia in the Beijing Olympics.
Ben, who played for Lewes Hockey Club's senior team in the National League at the tender age of 15, was selected as captain of the men's team and is making his second appearance in the Olympics after debuting in Athens four years ago.

The 28-year-old Surbiton player has made more than 140 appearances for England and Great Britain and has also played for Canterbury and Amsterdam.

Great Britain are trailing Australia and the Netherlands by three points in Group B and need a big win over Australia and a bad Netherlands loss to Pakistan if they are to go through to the semi final stage.

Team GB's medal chances were badly damaged when they managed just a 1-1 draw with bottom-placed Pool B side Canada, after Matt Daly equalised three minutes from time.
