SUPER striker Paul Booth looked back on a superb season – both for him personally and the team as a whole.
"It was fantastic," the 34-goal man purred. "I was just saying to the boys that I cannot believe that we have won it.

"To still be playing for something at the end of the season is always a bonus, but when you win the league it is something you can look back on and think that you have achieved something.

"It's the second time that I have been involved in a promotion to the Conference (previously with Gravensend & Northfleet) and it feels better this time because I was more involved. I had a big influence on the season which is good."

Asked if any particular moment stood out for him, he replied, "The game on Wednesday, I know that it was only last week but it was a massive game because Fisher came and battled well and we managed to nick it 1-0.

"There were so many twists and turns in the season that I can't really pick one out, there have been some massive games where we have done well and there have been games where we haven't done so well but that is just football.

"At the end of the day the most consistent team wins it and that was us.
"Over Easter, when we had some good results and Eastbourne slipped up, was when things changed in our favour. I looked at the games and thought, 'hang about, we have got a chance now'.

"I think if you look at our squad it's one of the strongest in the league. People do look at it and think you should win it, but sometimes having the best players doesn't make you the best team.

"But this year we have forgotten about playing football first and worked hard – because the football will come after that."

Looking to next season, Booth said, "I think that our team will suit the conference (national) more and it would be nice to go in there and be fighting for a play-off place. But I think any team's aim when they get promoted is to stay up."
