Kevin Keehan revealed he was considering bringing in another player to boost his Rooks goal-shy attack.
Lewes have scored just twice in their first three games and Chamal Fenelon is the only Rooks player to have registered a goal - with the strike against Kidderminster on the opening day being an own goal.
When asked if he was considering bringing a
ny more players to strengthen the squad, Keehan said, "We've got to look at it. Danny (Cullip) would make a big difference in the first instance. But I've got to have a look at it and have a chat with Terry and see. Budget-wise we've got great restraints so it's just not easy in that respect.
"In pre-season we defended quite well - even without Danny against the Albion.
"Getting Danny in, I'm quite comfortable with (the defence). It was a forward I was more interested in getting. Now I've got to look at that again. Confidence is a big thing and when you've got players coming in who are not used to it you need a little bit of luck, and we're just not getting that at the moment."
Keehan said he wasn't overly-concerned about Scott Taylor's lack of success in front of goal so far this season. "The thing is with Scott (Taylor), he's very bright and when we get it to him he'll see something that no one else will see and bring people into the game.
"Obviously, when you're in a side that's not getting much of the ball, it's more difficult for him because there are fewer chances.
"But he will score and when he does his confidence will improve. I don't think he's lacking confidence but all goalscorers want to score goals. That's what he wants to do and he's had one where it's just come to him and he's just headed it just went round the post rather than in."
Of Fenelon's impact since coming on as a late sub against Crawley Town, Keehan said, "He gives us something different. Obviously he's big and strong. He can be frustrating as well. We're trying to get him to have a little bit more vision, just to lay it off and then to get the next one (pass).
"But when I did my homework about him prior to signing him, everyone I spoke to said if you get him right he's a Football League player. But the question is whether you can get him right. We've just got to keep working."
