The consortium that failed in a bid to take over Lewes FC earlier in the year looks set to make a fresh bid for the club.
Local businessman and Lewes FC fan Lee Cobb met with Rooks managing director Martin Elliott last Friday and is planning to place a bid for the club in the next few days.
Mr Cobb led a consortium in May that planned to return ousted manager Steve King to the club. However, the bid to take over the club was rejected.
The Sussex Express understands that there are other parties interested in either taking over the club or investing money in the troubled Dripping Pan outfit.
A club spokesman today confirmed that a group other than the one led by Mr Cobb is due to meet with club officials later this week, and also that there were a number of individuals not connected with each other who are interested in investing money in the club and then joining the present board of directors.
