Yeovil was the third of our bogey teams this season! First it was Crewe, then Southend, both away and both beaten.
There had been worrying times in the lead up to the game. We had injury problems!

Colin Hawkins has worries over foot and hernia. Jake Robinson had a bang on the knee playing for the reserves. Kevin McLeod was still on the injured list. Adam Virgo
's knee was suspect. Adam Hinshelwood remains on the long-term list and Adam El-Abd needed a run-out after injury. Otherwise, no problems!

Manager Micky Adams hadn't been idle. Joe Anyinsah was picked up from Preston on a month's loan. Anyinsah is a 24-year-old midfield/winger and came straight into the team.

It's tough following the team from afar. The BBC can keep you informed at regular intervals but 0-0 at half-time doesn't tell you much. "OFF" at 62 minutes for a second bookable offence tells you there's a story.

It was new boy Anyinsah who got the red card! One hour into his loan and he's off, banned for the next match. Not what I would class as a good start.

Other snippets come through, such as Shrewsbury scoring for fun against Gillingham. Seven-nil it ended! Bobby Zamora scores for Fulham. "Our" Bobby looks set to make a bigger impression in the Premiership with Fulham rather than West Ham.

Next I hear of Paul McShane (he who scored in the Seagulls' last win at Crystal Palace) doing his bit for Hull City in their win over Newcastle. Interesting times!

However, the next news from Yeovil was better still! Seventy-seven minutes...penalty – and to Brighton. Nicky Forster knocks it in for 1-0 to us with only 10 men. Unfortunately the celebrations only lasted three minutes as a Yeovil equaliser came up on 80 minutes!

So there is 10 minutes for the 10-men Seagulls to hang on for the draw, one point and keeping the unbeaten away record.

Hang on they do for a creditable point. We slip down the table slightly but on nine points the play-off zone is a mere one point away.

I fill in more detail of the match later. Brighton were attacking when Adam Virgo was fouled for the penalty. Yeovil's goal just came via a Darren Way shot from just outside the area. There were around 4,500 at Huish Park with 600 Albion fans in good voice.

The main talking point is Anyinsah's red card. Nathan Jones ,the ex-Albion player famous for his stepovers, was popular with Seagull fans – until now! He made a meal of two tackles which got Anyinsah sent off.

Adams said this was harsh and was furious at the way Jones over-reacted. It changed the game, which Brighton could have won. Nathan might find his reception at Withdean less than friendly for the return game?

Whilst this was happening our Carling Cup opponents, Manchester Dubai, (they play at Middle Eastlands apparently), are waiting to play Chelsea. We asked "Who needs Robinho?" last week. Actually we might just find a place for the £32.5 million player in our squad. He scored against Chelsea with his very first free-kick. Latest news is that City may get Ronaldo (the Brazilian one) to go alongside Robinho. I don't think this will be in time for Withdean though! Pity really as our young Tommy Elphick might have shown him a thing or two?

Before City sample the delights of Withdean, however, it's down to earth with Walsall visiting and the serious business of getting the first win in the league campaign at home. They are just above us in League One giving the chance of the first home league win and up to the play-offs.

Snippets of news from Lewes connections – Kerry Mayo has been loaned out to the Rooks. Boss Adams says he is pleased to help out the Lewes side. Then good news from the Dripping Pan as Brighton reserves beat Crystal Palace 3-0. It may have been a reserve game but beating Palace in whatever form is always satisfying! The goals came from Jonny Dixon, Dan Royce and Steve Cook. Adam El-Abd came through the game unscathed but unfortunately Jake Robinson picked up a knee injury.
