Understrength Rooks go down at Braintree
An under-strength Lewes slumped to a 3-0 win away to Braintree Town on Tuesday night.
The hosts took the lead on seven minutes when a break through the middle saw a Chris Sullivan shot deflected past Lewes keeper Steve Williams by Billy Burgess.
They made it 2-0 two minutes after the restart when Richard Jolly cut in from the right and lobbed Williams into the far corner.
The third and final goal came on 63 minutes when a Brad Quinton free-kick was drilled into the top left hand corner from all of 30 yards.
Lewes, through illness and injury, were missing top-scorer Paul Booth, Simon Wormull and Dale Binns.
