Sussex begin 2012 campaign at rivals Surrey

Sussex have a mouthwatering start to the 2012 season in the LV=County Championship Division One, as they will face a trip to newly-promoted rivals Surrey at the Kia Oval to kickstart the new campaign.

The action will begin on Thursday 5th April, before they travel to Liverpool to take on reigning champions Lancashire, whilst the opening fixture at The PROBIZ County Ground will see the hosts entertain 2011 runners-up Warwickshire from Thursday 26th April.

The Sharks’ first Clydesdale Bank 40 fixture of the season will take place on Sunday 13th May at The PROBIZ against the Unicorns whilst Yorkshire Carnegie are the visitors eleven days later in a floodlit affair.

Sussex begin their Friends Life t20 campaign away to neighbours Kent Spitfires on Tuesday 12th June, at nearby Tunbridge Wells, before returning to Hove to take on Hampshire Royals two days later under the lights.

The highlight of Sussex’s fixtures calendar is often the outground festivals, with the Horsham Festival scheduled earlier than usual. This year it features a local derby with Surrey visiting us for an LV=CC clash beginning on Wednesday 6th June, with Derbyshire Falcons the opponents in the CB40 on Sunday 10th, at Cricket Field Road.

The Arundel Festival begins on Wednesday 18th July when 2008 and 2009 Champions Durham are the visitors in the LV=CC, whilst Northamptonshire Steelbacks are the CB40 opponents.
