Just when you thought it was safe to go back on the PDC tour...Jaws!

I'm only available online this week, as modern technology has let me down, my home broadband went down, and our server at work also failed, so was unable to get my article over to the Express offices.

Last weekend saw us head off to the fantastic city of Salzburg in Austria for two PDC Players Championship competitions.

Before we left last week, we went to a great exhibition night involving Peter 'One Dart' Manley, at the Royal Albert in Hastings. We all had a good night, especially Captain Sheebo, who was the only player to beat Peter all night. Apparently Sheebo has now quit darts whilst he's winning, we'll see!

Back to Austria, and the early Friday flight meant that we had the day to look around the city. Shame that the weather was awful, we got soaked, but still had a good day.

Going into the Saturday tournament I was hopeful of a good draw as there were a lot of local players present. That was soon put to rest as I found myself drawn out against number 3 seed Colin Lloyd...again!

All you can do is get on with it, so I gave it my best, but eventually lost by 6 legs to 2. I was happy with the way that I'd played, I was on a finish after 12 darts in each leg, but Colin (aka Jaws, hence the rubbish headline - my fault, not Andy's! Sports Ed!) was in good form.

Adrian Lewis was the winner of the day, hitting a nine darter in the final just for good measure. Hi first round opponent was Adrian Gray, Adi didn't do much wrong, but Lewis was just awesome on the day. We went out for a curry to commiserate our day's efforts.

Sunday is another day, perhaps better draws would be assigned to us today. I drew Brendan Dolan, a top Irish player who has qualified for the World Matchplay next month.

Again I played pretty well, although I missed a few doubles and ended up losing 6–1. Brendan missed nothing, taking out ton plus finishes whilst I'm sat on one dart out shots. Another unlucky day then!

Brendan put on a fantastic show throughout the day, making the semi finals. Why does everyone choose to have their good days when I play them?

Adi Gray had a better day (that rhymes!) reaching the last 16, where he was unlucky to lose to Vincent Van Der Voort by 6 legs to 5.

My wife and I stayed in Austria on Monday for a day of sightseeing around the lakes and mountains. It was a glorious day, and some awesome scenery.

On Wednesday our Superleague team lost 5–4 to Newhaven. I played Paul Eves, and managed a 3-0 win, although neither of us really got into a good flow. Man of the match went to Newhaven's Michael Hammond.

Now it is time to start planning for the next tournament at the Citywest in Dublin in October.
