Eastbourne secure 2010 sponsorship
EASTBOURNE Speedway has received a massive boost with the announcement today of a new sponsor for the 2010 season.
A deal was signed to bring a "significant investment" to the club by Lifestyle Europe, the company behind Eastbourne's Mazda and Renault car showrooms.
The tie-up will see the newly branded Eastbourne Lifestyle Eagles riders take to the Arlington track in 2010's first fixture, against Peterborough on March 20, with race suits bearing the Lifestyle Europe logo.
Eagles' co-promoter, Trevor Geer, said: "A great deal of work has gone into securing the future of the Eagles as a top-flight speedway team and we're hugely grateful to those fans and local businesses that have dug very deeply into their pockets and given up a lot of time for the club.
"A prominent local business like Lifestyle coming on board really adds to our momentum and will give a renewed enthusiasm on the track."
Peter Isted, managing director at Lifestyle, said: "The Eagles have a proud history, attracting top international riders to represent the club across the UK and delivering first-class entertainment in Eastbourne.
"We are really looking forward to making this a winning partnership."
The Eagles have raced in recent times without an "independent" headline sponsor.
