A brilliant last minute free kick goal earned Ringmer a point at home to Horsham YMCA last night.
The visitors took an early lead through Kevin Burgess on four minutes, before the Blues levelled eight minutes later through Scott Marshall. They were ahead three minutes before the break from another Marshall effort, both his goals coming from the penalty spot.
But a disastrous start for the hosts saw them behind barely 10 minutes into the second half, when YM scored twice inside a minute – through Brad Curtis (55 mins) and Leroy Hyett (56 mins).
it looked to be all over... before that last minute trademark strike from Matt Percival.
The point earned moves second-placed Ringmer two points clear of Peacehaven in third, and just a point behind Redhill in first.
But both those sides have seven and five games in hand on the Blues, while Pagham and East Preston also lie not far behind Ringmer, in fourth and fifth in county league division one – and with five and eight games in hand respectively.
