County League midweek round-up

Ringmer drew level on points with Peacehaven at the top of Division 1 after a 2-2 draw away to St Francis on Tuesday night.

But, with Peacehaven suffering a shock 1-0 defeat at home to Hailsham on Wednesday night, they could have gone twopoints clear had they not conceded an injury time equaliser. Ringmer took the lead with a terrific corner by Matt Percival who curled the ball in off of the back post after 15 minutes. But four minutes later ex-Blue Andy Mott levelled.

Ringmer’s Mark Price was controversially sent off on 65 minutes but Percival put the Blues ahead again on 73 minutes. It looked all over but Rangers were awarded a 93rd minute free kick, where Brannon O’Neil struck home.

AFC Uckfield lost 2-0 away to East Grinstead Town, while Newhaven went out of the Div 2 Challenge Cup on penalties after drawing 1-1 with Steyning.

But Seaford Town won 2-1 at Mile Oak in the same competition, Ollie Davies (73 min) and Tom Porter (86) the scorers.
