It was a winning weekend for Ringmer FC, with the 1st team putting five past Shoreham on Saturday afternoon.

On Friday night the Veterans team beat AFC Brighton & Hove Vets side at the Caburn. Ringmer won an entertaining game 4-3 with goals from Simon Clarke (2) and Darren Longley and Derrick Smith.

On Saturday the 1sts won 5-3 in another thriller. Blues’ scorers were Marc Whiteman (2), Lee Wood, Aaron Watson and an own goal. Shoreham’s goals were from Mark Pulling (2) and John Melia. The win put the Blues up to fifth ahead of their visit to Dorking Wanderers on Wednesday.

The Reserves beat Pagham 2-0 at Nyetimber Lane, with goals from Tom Swancott and Courtney Page. Dan Goodchild rolled his ankle in the warm-up, leaving Blues without a keeper, but emergency replacement Louis Brown kept a valiant clean sheet.
