Crawley Town have today named John Gregory as their new manager.

The 59-year-old was unveiled at a press conference this morning (Tuesday) and replaces Richie Barker, who had his contract terminated by the club on Wednesday of last week (November 27).

Gregory, a former England international with six caps, is best known for managing Aston Villa in the Premier League and guiding them to an FA Cup final.

He was manager of Derby and then QPR until 2007, his last job in England, before unsuccessful spells at two Israeli clubs and one in Kazakhstan.

Gregory takes over with Crawley Town 15th in League One.

His first game will be this Saturday’s FA Cup match away at Bristol Rovers.
