Steve King has added to his Lewes FC squad the “young and exciting talent” that today’s Sussex Express had reported he was hoping to snap up.
Rooks has captured 19-year-old Christian Nanetti from fellow Ryman League Premier Division side, Harrow Borough.
The signing was completed after we went to press yesterday lunchtime.
A former youth player at Premier League side QPR, Italian-born Nanetti is described on the club website as being: “comfortable on the wing or playing just off the front line.”
Lewes FC online continues: “Following his departure from Loftus Road he joined Raith Rovers on a short term deal before a short spell at Ashford Town (Middx) FC where he attracted much attention from league clubs without managing to secure a deal.”
King said: “Christian is an exciting player with excellent technical ability, I am sure the Lewes fans will like what they see. He is an attacking player who has the ability to open up defences, and I know he will bring a fresh attacking dimension to our squad.”
Nanetti is eligible to make his debut against Hendon in the Ryman Premier, a match which has been switched to Sunday due to Hendon’s landlords Wembley being in FA Cup action at home on the previous day.
