Tom Vickers has returned to the Dripping Pan.

Darren Freeman has continued to build his squad for next season with the news that tigerish midfielder Vickers will return after spells at Hastings United and Eastbourne Town last season.

The 22 year old started his career with Brighton & Hove Albion before moving to Hastings in 2012 before joining Lewes.

Vickers made 8 appearances for the Rooks in 2013/14 season under Garry Wilson and Danny Bloor although his time at The Pan was interrupted by injury, being released in November 2013. He re-joined Hastings United but suffered a serious injury in 2014 that kept him out for most of that season.

Vickers will join a competitive squad of midfielders although manager Darren Freeman was quick to add that the importance of a strong squad is key for next season.

He told the club’s webiste: “Our aim next season is to kick-off the season in August with the strongest possible squad. One of the reason why I feel we drew so many games in the second half of last season was that we didn’t have the strength in depth when we lost players due to injury.

“Next season I want to have a strong squad not just a strong team.”

Another player staying on at The Pan is striker Richard Greenfield who made three substitute appearances at the end of last season having joined us from Lancing.

More squad news will be released later this week.

Current 2016/17 Squad:-

GK - Winterton, Stroomberg

DF - Brinkhurst, Malins, Badger, Gore

MF - Conlon, Hammond, Vickers, Dramis, Brotherton, Jones, Cotton, Dramis

FW - Coppola, Laing, Greenfield
