Ringmer were denied three valuable points, after this County League One fixture was abandoned at half time due to Floodlight failure at the Oval.

Ringmer were understandably very disappointed at the outcome, having provided one of their best performances of the season.

With the return of Aaron Hopkinson and the debuts of Gordon Brown and Cousins, Ringmer went for the jugular early on and found themselves 3 goals up within 30 minutes.

Sherriff, Hopkinson’s wonder strike and a Jordan Stubbings header gave them a deserved lead, but it proved to be to no avail.

Manager Hopkinson cursed Ringmer’s luck and the travelling supporters were sickened by the abandonment.

They will have to return later in the season to complete the fixture. Eastbourne Unite td will count themselves lucky to escape defeat and they must feel that Santa gave them an early Christmas present.

Ringmer host Hailsham Town in Sussex Division One on Saturday.

Team: Mitchell; Saunders; Bolwell; Bunn; Sherriff; Stubbings; Cousins; Brown; Shelton; Temba; Hopkinson.
