Eastbourne Eagles rider Danny Warwick is set to be released from hospital this week after suffering three fractured vertebrae and a squashed disc while in action at Arlington last Sunday.
Warwick, 31, injured himself in the Eagles’ National League 64-24 victory over King’s Lynn Young Stars last weekend.
The Eastbourne rider was expected to be discharged from hospital in Brighton and will face a lengthy rehabilitation process before he can compete again.
The crash occurred in heat nine when Warwick came together with reserve Georgie Wood and Young Stars rider Tom Stokes.
Club chairman Martin Dugard added, via his Twitter account, “Danny is back and talking fine. Has to keep collar for eight weeks. Can have physio to start walking tomorrow. Out in a few days.”
