Lewes assistant manager Danny Bloor is vying for revenge as his side prepare to host Witham Town in the Ryman Premier tomorrow (Saturday). Witham gave Lewes a lesson on their own patch in the FA Cup in September, running out 4-2 winners.
“It’s a really important game and we owe them,” said Bloor.
“Let’s not beat about the bush, they embarrassed us in the FA Cup so it’s a game we really are up for and we want to beat them.”
A win would see Lewes leapfrog tomorrow’s fellow strugglers. Both sides are at the wrong end of the table, with Lewes in 18th and Witham one place higher. The hosts are buoyed by the return to fitness of Phil Appiah but Sam Crabb and Nick Wheeler could miss out.
Kick off is 3pm at the Dripping Pan.
